Spiritual Gifts

Jul 15, 2023

John MacArthur has said this about spiritual gifts: "Spiritual gifts are divine enablements for ministry, characteristics of Jesus Christ that are to be manifested through the body corporate just as they were manifested through the body incarnate."

Simply put, the Christian life is one of service in which each member exercises their unique gift or gifts of God's grace in order to build up the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12, 1 Corinthians 12:7).

Rather than offering a full theology of biblical exegesis of Spiritual Gifts, this resource is simply intended to help you understand what the spiritual gifts are, according to Scripture, and how to possibly identify what yours might be.

Likewise, the provided resources are not intended to provide an exhaustive look at spiritual gifts, but rather to provide you with tools to help point you in the right direction of being a biblical participant and active member of the body of Christ.

The attached document is a list of the spiritual gifts that are mentioned throughout the New Testament. Below you will also find a link to an online spiritual gift assessment that may be of help in identifying your spiritual gifts. This is not to replace prayer and discernment and wise counsel of other mature Christians whom you trust and know you well and can therefore offer helpful insight into this matter.
