A lasting legacy...
First Baptist Church, Angels Camp was first started back in the early 1960s as Foothill Baptist Church. Over the years, this small rural church has blossomed and flourished into an amazing community of families and individuals who love Jesus and are committed to the Great Commission.
The Great Commission of Matthew 28: 19-20 defines the mission of the global Church, as well as our local expression of the body of Christ here at First Baptist Church, Angels Camp. Therefore, our mission as an individual, autonomous church follows the mission given to all Christians by our Lord Jesus, namely, to disciple and evangelize.
In light of our commitment to and desire to remain obedient to our Lord's directives, First Baptist Church, Angels Camp exists to Live. Love. Lead.
We are to live for Jesus.
We are to love like Jesus.
We are to lead others to Jesus.
As God continues to move through this local body of Christ, we are excited to see how He molds and guides according to His will, and in His timing. Being a church who's primary commitment is to the word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not easy, and often not popular, in the context of 21st century American culture. And that's why we depend all the more on the power of the Holy Spirit to strengthen us and sanctify us continually as we grow into the church God is calling us to be.
We will be resolute in remaining faithful to our predecessors in speaking the truth in love, and being salt and light to the greater community.

INVESTing into today...
Change is inevitable. And churches who aren't changing and growing are typically churches that are dying. While our message will never change, how we deliver that message should always be open to evaluation.
And as we move further into a generation that is increasingly hostile to the message of the Gospel, we must evaluate how we deliver the timeless message of Jesus Christ.
We as a church family will do this through the individual commitment to INVEST - Investing our time, our gifts, our resources, in relationships, and in our worship to God. And as we INVEST, we will reap what we sow as we enjoy the divinely anointed and appointed return on our investments!

Where we are headed...
Jeremiah 29:11 has served as an encouraging promise to the faithful for generations - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans for a hope and a future."
And while we cling to the hopes and dreams of many who call FBCAC their home, we know one thing is for sure - we are in the hands of our Heavenly Father who loves us and cares for us.
God is sovereign, and we will remain obedient to the commands of Jesus Christ for his Church - to make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Programs and activities are good, and they serve their purpose. But at the end of the day, we want people to know Jesus Christ, and be found in him. And through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, we can know God, and make Him known!
