I'm a Saint, Pt. 36

As we look at the next piece of the armor of God, we come to a very important piece - the helmet of salvation - which serves to protect what we know to be true regarding our common salvation in Christ, as well as to identify who we are in Christ.

In this message, we'll consider three truths: 1) I know who I am, which is related to our justification, 2) I know to what God has called me, which refers to our sanctification, and, finally, 3) I know what awaits me, which is related to our glorification. And it is this last piece - our future glorification with Christ - which serves as the primary function of the helmet, which Paul describes elsewhere as the helmet of the hope of salvation. It is in fact our hope that protects us in the most challenging spiritual battles.
