I'm a Saint, pt. 17

As we continue looking at what makes us a healthy church in Ephesians 4, the apostle Paul introduces the idea of how each member of the body has been given spiritual gifts. Those gifts are rooted in God's grace and are a result of Christ's victory of sin and death. Connecting that victory to that of Yahweh in Psalm 68:18, our gifts can be seen as spoils of war that Christ fought on our behalf through his incarnation and ascension into heaven. Not only are we each given gifts, but Christ has also gifted the church certain leaders, such as apostles, prophets, evangelists, and pastors to help lead the body, and as we'll see in Pt. 18, equip the saints for the work of ministry.
